Stay with your grace (sometimes longer: Stay with your grace from us) is a by the Taizé Community written hymn .

Stay with us in your grace,
Lord Jesus Christ.
Oh, stay with us with your grace,
you faithful God!
The text has a biblical origin and comes from Lk 24.29 EU :
“28 So they reached the village they were going to. Jesus pretended to go on, 29 but they pressed him, saying, Stay with us; because it is evening, the day has already passed! So he went in with them to stay with them. 30 And it came to pass, when he was at table with them, he took the bread, said praise, broke it, and gave it to them. "
Form and spread
The song is a four-part short chant characteristic of the Taizé community. The song is sung repeatedly in a meditative way (ostinato.) Unchanged. It can be supported by solo chants. It can be found in the current song booklet under number 147. There are a number of notations for instruments: keyboard , guitar , flute , oboe , flute-oboe, clarinet , cor anglais , oboe-clarinet, trumpet , trombone , cello, and bassoon .
The song can be sung in German and eleven other languages: English (Stay with us), Spanish (Ven Jesús no tardes Senor), Dutch (Blijf met uw genade), Swedish (Herre, stanna kvar med din nåd), Danish ( Bliv dog med din nåde), Polish (Daj nam, Panie, łaski), Lithuanian (Būki maloningas), Croatian (Milost svoju), Slovenian, Italian (Nella tua grazia redta con noi), Chinese.
The song was composed by Jacques Berthier in 1982. The text goes back to old liturgical models and was edited by the Taizé brothers. The rights are held by “Ateliers et Presses de Taizé”.
The song can be found in two regional editions of the Evangelical Hymnal : in the regional section for Bavaria a. Thuringia (song number 702) and Rhineland / Westphalia / Lippe (song number 586) as well as in other publications, e.g. B. "You are Lord 1" ISBN 3-925352-23-6 , Celebrate Jesus!
