The Blelham Tarn is a lake in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The lake is west of the Windermere and north of the Latterbarrow .
The lake has only a number of very small tributaries and its outflow is the Blelham Beck , which flows into Lake Windermere.
The Blelham Tarn and the surrounding wetland have been a Site of Special Scientific Interest since 1985 . The reserve is of national importance as 48 species of caddis flies can be found here, as well as a number of rare snails, flatworms and spiders. The Blelham Bog bordering the lake is also protected as a National Nature Reserve .
