Blind Myself is a Hungarian metal band that was formed in 1995.
history
Blind Myself was founded in 1995 and has since enjoyed great success in the metal scene, especially in Hungary . The first demo tape Blind Yourself was released in 1996, followed a year later by the second, Horrified by the Sun , which was also released in 1998 as an EP on Crossroads Records Hungary and helped the band to Warner Music Hungary / 1G Records. Your video to Kaine was just as important as the previous video Horrified by the Sun . The initial successes paid off with performances at the Sziget Festival in Budapest and a tour of Hungary.
In 1999 Warner Music Hungary released the first studio album Haven't . Blind Myself then became the first Hungarian metal band to play in the USA , including with Ignite . In 2000 the band decided to settle in New York for some time . While they worked and played in the city (with bands like JJ Paradise Players Club, Puddle of Mudd , Keelhole, Kill Your Idols, Ignite), they lived in Brooklyn . The second studio album, Product of Our Imagination , was recorded in Hungary and released by 1G Records in 2000.
In addition to other club shows in New York, Blind Myself also played in the opening act for Slayer , Sepultura (Wanted Festival) and Kreator (Sziget Festival) before they decided to go back to Hungary in 2003. Worst-Case Scenario , the third album, which got the best reviews, was released in 2004 by Hammer / Edge Records and this time enabled the band to appear on major festival stages (e.g. in front of Children of Bodom ) and to tour South America and Europe. Blind Myself received the Hungarian Metal Award as the best live band in 2005. At the 2006 Sziget Festival, the band shared a stage with a metal giant: Sick of It All .
After the fourth album Ancient Scream Therapy was released on December 4th in Hungary by Hammer Records, the German label Tiefdruck-Musik became aware of Blind Myself. The album was also released for the German market at the end of March 2007. Metal Hammer Hungary voted Ancient Scream Therapy at number 1 on the album charts, the video Go Get a Life! appeared and the tours through Eastern and Western Europe were a complete success. In October 2008 the video for Lost in Time was released , on which Ignite singer Zoltán Téglás took over guest vocals.
