Blindside is a Christian post-hardcore - band from Stockholm . Their music is often referred to as alternative rock , which is not wrong, but for the band members "it is fundamentally not important to be categorized into a certain genre". Nevertheless, according to singer Christian Lindskog, the term post-hardcore is "most appropriate". The band was founded - inspired by American metal , grunge and the alternative rock scene at the time - in 1994 under the name Underfree and renamed itself Blindside in 1996.

Blindside's music can be assigned to post-hardcore , as slowed blast beats of the drums and breakdowns of the guitars also appear, with Christian Lindskog continuing to sing during the breakdowns.

Singer Christian Lindskog says he is inspired by many different people. So is the song Yemkela (from The Great Depression ) u. a. from a 10 year old boy. The lyrics are mostly depressed and "dark", especially the album The Great Depression . Lindskog was on a mission and saw the misery in Africa - then he fell into "a deep depression". In contrast to this, Lindskog also writes songs that are supposed to convey that there is always a way, an example of this is the song My Alibi .

Christian Lindskog is distinguished by the fact that he sings about his faith in some songs. So it says in Silence : “They won't see the fire you have lit inside of me” (something like: “They will never see the fire that you kindled in me.”).
