(1978)

Blondie is the debut album by the band of the same name , released in 1976.

X-Offender , Rip Her to Shred s and In the Flesh have also been released as singles. Only In the Flesh made it into the charts in Australia and reached number 2. X-Offender was initially called Sex-offender, but the record company insisted on changing the title for fear that it would not be played on the radio. The album was only a medium success in Australia and only sold better shortly after the band's great success after the record company Chrysalis had released the album again in 1977. The band switched to this label after the album.

Musically the album is rather inconsistent. In addition to punk songs (In the Sun, Kung Fu Girls), various other songs copy pop from the 60s and are reminiscent of the Shangri-Las . The album closes with the song The Attack of the Giant Ants , which is an homage / satire to 1950s disaster B-movies. The album is mostly rated positively by critics.
