Blood is a computer game by the production company Monolith Productions from 1997. It uses the graphics engine build engine , which is also used in Duke Nukem 3D . The game itself was indexed in Germany before it was released. Blood was distributed by GT Interactive .
action
The player controls an undead protagonist named Caleb , who can be imagined as a dark variant of the character Duke Nukem . You work your way through crypts and crumbling churches while being attacked by zombies and other animals.
In the game you come across various allusions from horror films, for example, in a snowy hedge maze, the player comes across Jack Torrance from Stanley Kubrick's " Shining " who was frozen to death with an ax in his hand , which Caleb also did at this point with "Here's Johnny!" commented. Furthermore, in other levels one encounters allusions from " Dance of the Devils ", " Friday the 13th ", " Seven " or " Halloween ".
Overall, the game is full of bad jokes and black humor. For example, Duke Nukem's body can be found in a hidden chamber.
The game brought several new weapons, such as a voodoo doll , with which you can make an opponent disappear without touching him, or a signal pistol that sets the opponent on fire when fired several times. But there were also classic weapons such as double-barreled shotguns , submachine guns , explosive charges , stun guns and flamethrowers .
Add-ons
Two add-ons were released, Blood: Plasma Pack and Blood: Cryptic Passage . On May 9, 2019, a version revised by Nightdive Studios entitled Blood: Fresh Supply was released on GOG.com and Steam .

action
The player controls one of the four "Chosen Ones" (chosen ones), which also includes Caleb, the protagonist of the first part. The names of the other characters are Ophelia, Gabriella and Ishmael. These "heroes" must go into battle against the "Cabal". This group, whose supporters already opposed the first part, is the cult of the dark god "Tchernobog". But over time this group has developed from a local religious cult to a global organization called "Cabalco".
In contrast to the first part, the plot is more in the foreground.
