The Bloomberg Tower is a skyscraper in the US metropolis of New York City , construction of which began in 2001 and was completed in 2005, after four years of construction. The official street address is 731 Lexington Avenue . The architect was César Pelli . The tower ranks 30th on the list of tallest buildings in New York in 2019 . The height is 246 meters, including the roof antenna approximately 287 meters. However, the antenna is not considered to be part of the building architecture, unlike spiers. The 54-storey high-rise has offices in the lower area, while a total of 105 apartments have been accommodated further up.
The building serves as the headquarters of the eponymous Bloomberg LP , a media company founded by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 1981. Retailers are located in the lower part of the building, including a. a branch of Home Depot .
In the lower area the building consists of a steel frame. Further up, the reinforced concrete construction continued.
