Blue October is a British synthpop band formed by Glen Wisbey and Barney Miller in Dagenham , Essex , England in 1996 . A year earlier, a band of the same name was founded in Houston , which moves between post-grunge and alternative rock .
history
The band was founded in 1996 by the two musicians Glen Wisbey and Barney Miller in Dagenham / Essex. In the following years, Chris Taubert and Nic Johnston joined other musicians. In the same year the band signed a contract with the American label A Different Drum , an indie label that specializes in electronic music. Later that year the band released their debut album Incoming . Shortly after this publication, Miller passed away.
In 2001, after a replacement for the late singer Miller in Ross Carter could be found, the second album Preaching Lies to the Righteous was released . The band played as a duo until 2005 before Chris Taubert joined the band. That year the band released their third album. This is called One Day Silver, One Day Gold .
Later on, guitarist Nic Johnston joined the band. In 2007 the debut album was re-released, which also includes a DVD. The band has appeared on several compilations , such as the Microsoft Xbox game Dance Dance Revolution . In 2008, Walk Amongst the Living was their fourth studio album. The band is supported on live tours by drummer Bob Malkowski .
