Blue Tongue Entertainment was an Australian entertainment software company founded in 1995 that focused its work on the production of video games . In 2004, the previously independent company was taken over by THQ and has worked as a developer for THQ ever since.

Company history

Since its inception, Blue Tongue has grown into one of Australia's leading video game manufacturers. While the first game, AFL Finals Fever , was only distributed in Australia in 1996 , the next title, Riding Star, has already been released internationally. Since then, Blue Tongue has been producing video games for the international market, including adaptations of internationally known films such as Starship Troopers , Jurassic Park and The Polar Express .

The last title Blue Tongue developed was de Blob , which appeared in Germany in September 2008. The game received 2 of 14 Wii awards from IGN for best jump 'n' run or platform game and for the most innovative design.

In August 2011 the studio was closed as part of a restructuring of THQ.
