Bożena Kotkowska

Bożena Kotkowska (born August 25, 1964 in Bielsko-Biała ) is a Polish politician , trade union official and since 2007 member of the Sejm in the VI . Electoral term.

She finished her studies at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the Silesian University in Katowice . Then she worked in the school system and was also active in the Związek Nauczycielstwa Polskiego (Polish Teachers' Union). From 2002 to 2006 she was a member of the Bielsko-Biała City Council. She was originally a member of the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej (Federation of the Democratic Left - SLD) and in 2004 she joined the newly founded Socjaldemokracja Polska (Social Democracy of Poland - SdPl) party, whose district association in Powiat Bielski she headed that year. In 2006 she became Deputy Chairwoman of the SdPl in the Silesian Voivodeship .

In the parliamentary elections in 2007 she was elected to the Sejm for the constituency of Bielsko-Biała with 15,234 votes on the list of Lewica i Demokraci (Left and Democrats - LiD). She is a member of the Sejm commissions for education, science and youth as well as public finances.

Since April 22, 2008 she has been a member of the newly founded SdPl Nowa-Lewica parliamentary group.
