Bob Clark (athlete)

Bob Clark (actually Robert Hyatt Clark ; born January 28, 1913 in Covina , California , † May 13, 1976 in Arcadia , California) was an American decathlete and long jumper .

In 1934 and 1935 he was US champion and in 1936 US runner-up in the decathlon. He was also national runner-up in the long jump in 1934.

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he was sixth in the long jump. In the decathlon there was a triple success in the US: Bob Clark won silver with his personal best of 7601 points behind Glenn Morris , who set a world record with 7900 points, and ahead of Jack Parker with 7275 points.

Clark set his personal long jump record with 7.91 m on June 26, 1936 in Milwaukee .
