Bob Shaw (athlete)

Bob Shaw (actually Robert Douglas Shaw; born December 27, 1932 in Taff's Well , Rhondda Cynon Taf ) is a former British hurdler .

In 1954 he won bronze over 440 yards hurdles for Wales starting at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver and reached the semifinals over 120 yard hurdles. At the European Athletics Championships in Bern , he was fifth in the 400 m hurdles .

At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 and at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1958 , he was eliminated over 400 m hurdles and 440 yard hurdles in the preliminary run.

In 1955 he became the English champion over the 440 yard hurdles.
