The bobsleigh run in the Heide Park Resort ( Soltau ) is a bobsleigh steel roller coaster model of the bob run made by Mack Rides , which was opened in 1993 as a Swiss bobsleigh run . It is currently the largest and longest bobsled run of its kind in the world.

journey

The 826 m long journey begins with a lift hill that transports passengers to a height of 27 m. Then it goes through numerous very tight bends, some dark ride passages and some block brakes until the final brake is reached. A second lift hill brings the trains back to the level of the station.

history

After the Wildwasserbahn II was opened on a heaped mountain in 1990 in order to adapt the terrain to the ride, the opportunity quickly arose for further use of the mountain. In 1993, further earthmoving made the station of the bobsleigh run at the same level as the upper part of the whitewater run. Since the mountain was created purely artificially, the planning could be carried out almost independently of the actual terrain. The hall, through which the railway runs as a dark ride part, was first built as a free-standing building and later filled with sand.

Although the railway was the fifth of its type to open in 1993, the theming and landscape were far from complete. At the opening, the railway looked more like a construction site, as the station and the tunnels or sidings were still under construction. The landscape was not completed until 1995.

In 2002 and 2003 an exhibition of wax figures of pop and rock stars from Madame Tussaud in London could be viewed in an exhibition room above the bobsleigh station .

In 2014, the attraction was renamed from "Swiss Bob Track" to "Bob Track", as it was now part of the "Transylvania" theme and the addition of the name seemed unsuitable.
