Bockwen-Polenz

Bockwen-Polenz was a municipality in the district of Meißen , Saxony , and is now part of Klipphausen .

The former municipality of Bockwen-Polenz is located directly south of Meißen above its Triebischtal district in the Meißner highlands . Neighboring communities were Scharfenberg in the east, Taubenheim and, for a short time, until it was incorporated into Taubenheim, Sönitz in the south and Garsebach in the west.

On January 1, 1973, Bockwen and Polenz merged to form the new community. The municipality also includes the district of Spittewitz , which had been part of Bockwen since July 1, 1950 due to the reclassification. In 1990 Bockwen-Polenz had 512 inhabitants. During the GDR era, the community was part of the Meissen district and thus the Dresden district . Fruit growing played an important role.

By incorporation , Bockwen-Polenz became a part of the community Scharfenberg on March 1, 1993, which has been part of the Klipphausen community since January 1, 1999.
