Spittewitz is a district in the municipality of Klipphausen in the district of Meißen , Saxony .

geography

Spittewitz is located south of Meissen in the Meissen highlands . The village is surrounded by the Meißner district Buschbad in the northwest, Bockwen in the northeast, Reichenbach and Batzdorf in the east, Riemsdorf in the south and Polenz in the west. State road 177 runs immediately to the east of the village . A four-sided courtyard in the village is protected as a cultural monument (see list of cultural monuments in Spittewitz ).

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1350 as "Spitewicz", in 1428 it was called "Sputenwitz" and in 1461 it appears for the first time under its current name in a document. The village was administered by the Meissen Hereditary Authority . The lords of Schloss Batzdorf exercised the manorial rule . In 1884, the farmer Weiler had a 56 hectare large block corridor . Originally it formed a community with Reichenbach, but was added to Bockwen on July 1, 1950 and came with this on January 1, 1973 to the Bockwen-Polenz community . On 1 April 1993 Spittewitz was conducted as part of Bockwen-Polenz after Scharfenberg incorporated, in turn, since 1 January 1999 together with the villages of Klipphausen and Gauernitz the community Klipphausen forms.
