history

Reppina was first mentioned in a document in 1539/40 as "Repin". It was created as a random group of houses on the banks of the Elbe, the Pegenauer Flur, and was subject to the Meißen hereditary authority . The manorial rule was exercised by the lords of Scharfenberg Castle, which is located directly above the town. A passenger ferry connection to the other bank had existed from Reppina since the 19th century. In the 19th century, Reppina was incorporated into the rural community of Gruben as part of Pegenau . This was renamed Scharfenberg in 1920 and has belonged to Klipphausen since January 1st, 1999.
