geography
Pegenau, on whose corridor are also the districts of Bergwerk and Reppina , is located southeast of Meissen in the Meissen highlands . history
Pegenau was first mentioned in a document in 1368 as "Begenow". As early as 1428, a Vorwerk in the village was first mentioned, which lasted into the 20th century. The Meissen inheritance administered the village. The lords of Scharfenberg Castle exercised the manorial rule . In 1876 the Rundling parish to Naustadt, together with Scharfenberg, owned a 250 hectare block corridor . In the 19th century, Pegenau became part of the rural community of Gruben , which was renamed Scharfenberg in 1920 . Since January 1, 1999, Scharfenberg has had local status within the municipality of Klipphausen , which therefore also includes Pegenau.
