Location of the Hühndorf district in Klipphausen

Hühndorf is a district of the village Klipphausen in the municipality of the same name in the district of Meißen , Saxony .

geography

Hühndorf is located in the part of the Meißner highlands known as Wilsdruffer Land . The village is surrounded by the other districts of Klipphausen, Weistropp and Kleinschönberg in the north, and Sachsdorf in the west. The town of Wilsdruff borders to the southwest , and its district of Kaufbach to the south . About one kilometer southeast of the locality, the borders of the districts of Saxon Switzerland, Eastern Ore Mountains and Meißen as well as Dresden meet. The neighboring Unkersdorf (village of Gompitz ) to the south- east, Rennersdorf (village of Mobschatz ) to the east of Hühndorf and Oberwartha to the northeast are all part of the Saxon state capital.

One kilometer south of Hühndorf is the “Dresdner Tor” rest stop on federal motorway 4 , which runs in an east-west direction in the section between the Wilsdruff junction and the Dresden-West motorway triangle . The northern part of the facility is connected to Hühndorf via the “Am Rasthof” road. The most important street in Hühndorf is Weistropper Straße, which connects the district directly with Wilsdruff and Weistropp. The regional traffic Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains using this route connects Hühndorf with its 331 bus to Wilsdruff and the Dresden town of Cossebaude . The Stadtweg branches off from Weistropper Straße to the east in the direction of Rennersdorf and Unkersdorf. The Hühndorfer town center is on the street “Dorfberg”, other side streets in the town are the Prinzbachweg and the street “Am Klostergut”. The eastward flowing Tännichtgrundbach rises between Hühndorf and the service area and marks the border with Dresden in the Tännichtgrund .

The town center is located at the upper entrance to the narrow valley of the Prinzbach, which forms a flat meadow basin in its Hühndorfer spring basin. These relief forms prevented the establishment of a row village ; Instead, a square village was created with a 229 hectare large, long - forest hoof - like strip of land . To the north of Hühndorf, the Prinzbach cuts deeper and deeper into the terrain until it flows into the Wilde Sau above Constappel . In the other directions Hühndorf is surrounded by agriculturally used plateaus, including the Steinberg in the east and the Hühndorfer Höhe in the southwest.

According to Blaschke's "Historical Directory of Saxony", Hühndorf was first mentioned in 1283 as "Honendorf". Other sources show that 1350 was first mentioned in a document, so that Hühndorf celebrated its 650th anniversary in 2000. The place name means "high village". It changed over the centuries, among other things via the forms "Hundorf", "Hoendorff" and "Hindorf" to the current version. Hühndorf has been a parish in neighboring Weistropp for centuries. According to a popular legend, the Wilsdruffer Jakobikirche was originally supposed to be built on the nearby Hühndorfer Höhe.

The manor was initially exercised by the Meissen cathedral chapter , the village was administered by the Dresden office . After the Reformation , the manor was transferred to the Meißen Procuratorate. In 1856 Hühndorf belonged to the Wilsdruff court office and then joined the Meißen district administration , from which the district of the same name emerged. Hühndorf lost its independence on July 1, 1950 when it was incorporated into Weistropp, which in turn was incorporated into Klipphausen on January 1, 1994. The Hühndorf volunteer fire brigade has existed since around 1880. The population of the district has increased slightly in recent years due to the construction of homes.
