Listed building in the center of Rennersdorf

Rennersdorf located ten kilometers west of Dresden city center, the interior of the old town , on the left bank, Meissner highlands called Lösshochfläche . The edge of the Elbe valley is only two kilometers to the northeast. Adjacent boundaries are the Mobschatzer district of Brabschütz in the east, the Gompitz district of Unkersdorf in the south-west and Oberwartha in the north-west. The district and the Rennersdorf district, which is identical in area, belong to the Dresden statistical district of Cossebaude / Mobschatz / Oberwartha .

The north-western boundary of the district runs in the upper reservoir of the Niederwartha pumped storage plant . The district boundary to Brabshütz forms the valley of the Lotzebach in sections . The southern border is the A 4 , from which the A 17 branches off at the Dresden-West motorway triangle , which is halfway in the Rennersdorf area . The motorway triangle is from at an altitude of 252  m above sea level. NN lying town center only 500 m away. Rennersdorf has retained its original village character thanks to the preserved town center and the largely undeveloped corridor. Several old farms from the 18th century are still standing on the village square.

history

The Rennersdorf round was probably created in the 12th century , when the area around Meißen was reached by Franconian - Thuringian settlers as part of the German East Settlement . It was first mentioned in 1284 as part of the name of Johannes de Reinmarstorf . The place name developed in the 14th and 15th centuries via Reymarstorf and Reinharczdorf to Reinerstorf . The name Rennersdorf first appeared in 1569. In 1748 the place was called Rönnersdorf , and after 1875 it was recorded as Rennersdorf near Dresden .

Rennersdorf and its neighboring villages on a map from 1821

Equipped with a block corridor , the village was under the episcopal office in Briesnitz , after which it was also parish. As a result of the Reformation , Rennersdorf went to the office or to the Amtshauptmannschaft Dresden and became an immediate administrative village , which it remained for the following centuries. In the Silbergrund between Rennersdorf and Oberwartha, which has been sealed off since 1927 by the dam of the upper reservoir of the Niederwarthaer pumped storage plant, unsuccessful attempts to mine copper, silver and gold were made between 1694 and 1698. Agriculture and cattle breeding were replaced by fruit growing as the main source of income for local farmers in the 19th century. Since 1857 there was a school community with Brabshütz. On July 1, 1950, Rennersdorf was finally incorporated there. In 1994 the municipality of Brabsuetz merged with the Rennersdorf district in the municipality of Mobschatz, which was finally incorporated into Dresden on January 1, 1999 . From then on it developed into a small residential suburb of the state capital. After 1990 several single-family houses were built in the village.
