Location of the Niederpoyritz district in Dresden
|
Niederpoyritz is a district of Dresden on the Elbe . It belongs to the statistical district of Hosterwitz / Pillnitz and was assigned to the Loschwitz district .
location
Niederpoyritz is located in the east of Dresden on the northern bank of the Elbe and borders on Wachwitz in the west . The Hosterwitz district borders to the east . On the other side of the Elbe is the more densely built-up district of Laubegast .
Helfenberg is located above Niederpoyritz in the Dresden town of Schönfeld-Weißig . The Helfenberger Grund cuts as a small side valley in Niederpoyritz, starting into the slope of the Elbe. The village is separated from Oberpoyritz by Hosterwitz and Pillnitz.
history
The originally Slavic settlement was mentioned as Podegricz relatively late in 1414 . After the village had been owned by small nobility for a long time, King Friedrich August I of Saxony bought the estate in 1827 and expanded it into a royal winery. Like numerous villages along the Elbe below the slopes of the Elbe, the inhabitants originally lived from fishing and wine-growing.
Niederpoyritz was incorporated into Dresden on July 1, 1950 and remained as a whole as a village.
Economy and Infrastructure
Due to its scenic location and the proximity to Pillnitz Castle , Loschwitz and Blasewitz , tourism is currently the most important source of income for the district. Niederpoyritz is located near vineyards in the wine-growing region of Saxony . The Pillnitzer Landstrasse, which connects Loschwitz and Pillnitz, runs through Niederpoyritz. After the tram line to Pillnitz had to be closed in 1985 due to the dilapidation of the Blue Wonder , the city bus route 63 runs to Pilnitz and Schillerplatz . There is also a ferry (F16) to Laubegast.
The Niederpoyritz school location was dissolved in the course of the organized school closings by 2003. The new building erected in 1977, which last housed the branch of the Joseph-Haydn-Gymnasium , is empty, but is to be renovated for use by the 88th primary school in Dresden . The Elbhangtreff eV has been located in the old school building of the former 87th elementary school since the school closed
