The Reitzendorfer windmill, one of the landmarks of the Schönfeld highlands

Reitzendorf is a district of the town of Schönfeld-Weißig , which is part of the Saxon state capital Dresden, and is part of the statistical district of Schönfeld / Schullwitz .

The place was founded by Franconian settlers around 1200 and first mentioned in documents in 1378 . The place name goes back to the German personal name "Richizo". The village is particularly scenic, with the passage of time Reitzendorf becomes more and more a magnet for tourists. In 2003 the 625th anniversary of the town was celebrated.

The highest point in Dresden, the Triebenberg, is located in the Reitzendorf district .

A special attraction is the Reitzendorf smallholder museum , which has existed since 1992 . Southeast of the district, in the direction of Zaschendorf , is the Reitzendorfer windmill, one of the landmarks of the Schönfeld highlands . Both are listed as cultural monuments in the list of cultural monuments in Reitzendorf .
