Infrastructure
Local public transport is operated by Müller Busreisen , a private bus company in the Upper Elbe Transport Association . From 1908 to 1951 Schönfeld had a train station on the Dürrröhrsdorf – Weißig railway line, which has now been closed , and on the route of which there is now a walking and cycling path.
Cultural monuments
The district is characterized by its castle , which was renovated in 2000 and is located in the middle of the village.
In the 13th century Schönfeld Church , whose parish until 1898 included the villages of the Schönfeld highlands as well as Bühlau , Quohren and Rochwitz , there is an altar by Christoph Abraham Walther . The organ built by Christian Gottfried Herbrig in 1841 was replaced in 1904 by a new one made by the Dresden organ builder Johannes Jahn . Several members of the von Friesen family were buried in the crypt built in 1676 under the choir, including Heinrich von Friesen the Younger and Augusta Constantia von Friesen , wife of Schönfeld's lord of the palace, Heinrich Friedrich von Friesen, and daughter of Countess Cosel and August the Strong . The oldest grave slab in the churchyard, which was closed in 1855, dates from 1523.
