history

View through an old archway in the village center

In 1370 the place was first mentioned as Pestewicz ( Old Sorbian meaning: people of the plague). Around 1495 there were three farms in the village. The small farming hamlet of Pestitz was right next to the village of Mockritz. In 1620 the place belonged to the farmer Palitzsch. He had six houses built for his day laborers. The former Palitzschsche Gut has been preserved to this day. Kleinpestitz was subject to interest in the Meißner Hochstift , and until 1889 the church was under the church of the Frauenkirche . Since Kleinpestitz never had a school, the children had to attend the von Kaitz school and from 1893 that of Mockritz.

Moreauschänke, inn from 1912 to 1988

The keystone of the Moreauschänke , named after Jean-Victor Moreau , shows the year 1813. The restaurant was decorated with paintings from the Battle of Dresden in 1813.

After the First World War , a small housing estate was built in the village northeast of the village square. In 1921 the place was incorporated into Dresden. During the construction work in 1926, the remains of an Iron Age settlement were discovered on the new Eigenheimstrasse .

In the 1970s and 1980s, three prefabricated housing estates were built in the area of Kleinpestitz - north of Kohlenstraße to Westendring , south of Kohlenstraße , and north of Südhöhe .

In memory of the former Dresdner council noble families they renamed the streets in the village after their family name, the Bernese street , Isfried street , Römchen street , Tirmann road and Ziegler road . After the reunification , new residential buildings were built between Altpestitz and Südhöhe in place of the former pig fattening facility. For a short time the buildings of the mast system were still used as a furniture store, but were finally demolished in 1994.
