Malschendorf is a district of the town of Schönfeld-Weißig in Dresden and is part of the statistical district of Schönfeld / Schullwitz .
The district emerged in the 11th to 12th centuries as a settlement for Franconian farmers. The place name goes back to the Old Sorbian personal names "Malaš", "Maleš", "Mališ", "Mariš" or similar. The neighboring town of Krieschendorf , first mentioned in 1378, and Malschendorf grew together to form a village under the rule of the Schönfeld Church, finally in 1912 they were also politically united. In Malschendorf agriculture was formative for a long time, fruit in particular was grown. At the beginning of the 20th century Gustav Thiebel founded the Malschendorf natural tavern, which is still important today .
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Krieschendorf was incorporated.
On March 1, 1994, Malschendorf joined the large community of Schönfeld-Weißig, which was incorporated into Dresden on January 1, 1999.
