geography

From Neu-Leuteritz there is a view of the Elbe valley to Radebeul , Coswig and Weinböhla .

Neu-Leuteritz is 9 km northwest of Dresden city center, the inner old town , and is located on the steep drop of the Meißner highlands down to the Elbe valley . Neighboring districts apart from Cossebaude are the Mobschatz districts of Brabsütz in the southwest, Alt-Leuteritz in the south and Mobschatz in the southeast. The quite small district of Neu-Leuteritz does not have its own district . It extends from Brunnenweg on Albrechtshöhe further east to the Tummelse settlement , which is essentially limited to Daheimweg and Ziegeleiweg . Neu-Leuteritz belongs to the statistical district of Cossebaude / Mobschatz / Oberwartha . Neu-Leuteritz is a fragmented settlement , as there are several isolated parts without a town center.

history

Building in Neu-Leuteritz

Today's Neu-Leuteritz originally belonged together with Alt-Leuteritz to the district of Leuteritz. Towards the end of the 19th century , wealthy Dresdeners began to build their own homes and villas on the Elbe slope. As a result, the two settlements of Tummelse, located west of the Tummelsgrund near Mobschatz, and Neu-Leuteritz were created 1 km north of the Leuteritz town center, today's Alt -Leuteritz. The latter developed in the immediate vicinity of the Albrechtshöhe excursion restaurant . From the beginning, however, both settlements tended more towards Cossebaude than towards the center of Leuteritz. In 1970 this was also the decisive factor in separating the municipality as part of a regional reform . The Leuteritz district was reduced to Alt-Leuteritz and incorporated into Brabschütz. Neu-Leuteritz including Tummelse left the district of Leuteritz and was added to Cossebaude. Comparable cases of such circumferences in Dresden are the nearby former Radebeul area Am Fährhaus and Neugruna .
