overview
Initially, the Dresden suburbs were added to the urban area, so that until around 1890 Dresden essentially only comprised the current districts of Old Town I and II as well as Neustadt and Friedrichstadt . From 1836 to 1999 a total of 65 rural communities , four manor districts and the city of Klotzsche were incorporated into Dresden . Since then, the state capital Dresden has consisted of 10 districts and 9 localities .
