Dirk Fengler (born March 3, 1970 in Stuttgart ) is a German soccer coach and former soccer player . From November 2015 to May 2016 he coached SV Morbach in the Rhineland League .

Career

After the youth stations of SKG Erbstetten , VfB Stuttgart and TSG Backnang , Fengler switched to Bundesliga club Stuttgarter Kickers in 1988 at the age of 18 , with whom he signed his first professional contract. He was used in seven games in the first division. After the relegation of the Kickers, he stayed in Stuttgart for two more years, where he developed into a regular player and completed 55 other games in which he scored a goal. In 1991 Fengler moved back to the Bundesliga for 1. FC Nürnberg . Here, too, he became a regular player and was used in 43 Bundesliga games for the Franks in two years.

For the 1993/94 season Fengler moved to the second division 1. FC Saarbrücken , then he was with Eintracht Trier and SC Verl before he went back to Trier. For the 2000/01 season Fengler went to the then third-class Karlsruher SC , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. Nevertheless, he left Karlsruhe and joined 1. FC Magdeburg , which had been promoted to the regional league . Due to a serious injury, he only played eight season games in Magdeburg. After the club went bankrupt in 2002 and the associated forced relegation, Fengler moved to Borussia Neunkirchen , where he ended his career as a competitive athlete in 2004.

In the following years Fengler worked as a player- coach at the lower-class club SV Polizei Trier . He got his trainer B and A license and in 2007 took over his first job as head coach at FSV Trier-Tarforst . With the club he rose from the district over the district to the Rhineland league . In August 2011 he suddenly resigned and in November 2011 he became the coach of his youth club TSG Backnang. At the end of June 2012 he left the club.

For the 2012/13 season he took over the coaching position at the Luxembourg third division club FC Koeppchen Wormeldingen . He worked there until June 30, 2014. From October 29, 2014 Fengler was responsible for the Rhineland League team of TuS Mosella Schweich. On October 22, 2015, he resigned after six defeats in a row. Since the beginning of November 2015 he has been coaching SV Morbach, also a club in the Rhineland League. After the season he stopped working in the Hunsrück due to health problems (new hip joint).
