Bodo Kolbe

Bodo Kolbe (born December 24, 1949 ) is a German blues musician from Mörfelden-Walldorf . He plays slide guitar , banjo and harmonica , among other things . With the album Mer speele de Bluus in the 1970s, Kolbe was one of the founders of German-sung blues. In 1979 Kolbe founded the band Dood un Deiwel , and in 1984 the band Saure Gummern . Kolbe's lyrics, sung in Hessian , deal with everyday life in the Hessian Ried . Bodo Kolbe is also involved in political conflicts in the area, such as the resistance to the expansion of the Rhein-Main airport .

He is a founding member of Mörfelder The Houseband , from which the formation ORANGE BOX emerged . Today Kolbe forms together with Ralf Baitinger (front man of “The Houseband” and “Orange Box”) and Fred Kraus the trio “Handkäs mit Orange”, which plays the blues in the Hessian dialect.
