Bodo Mergell

Bodo Wilhelm Friedrich Mergell (born June 26, 1912 in Gießen ; † April 11, 1954 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German philologist and university professor.

Life

He studied at the University of Frankfurt am Main (1930–1931 / 1934–1936: first state examination ), the University of Munich (1931) and the University of Montpellier (1932–1933). From 1934 to 1940 he was an assistant at the University of Frankfurt am Main. After receiving his doctorate in 1936 at the University of Frankfurt am Main and his habilitation in 1943, he taught there from 1941 to 1946 as a private lecturer . From 1946 to 1954 he taught as a professor for German philology at the University of Mainz .
