Bodo Räke

Bodo Räke (born January 15, 1941 in Heiligenbeil ; † April 20, 2004 in Rotenburg Wümme ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Räke attended elementary school in Volkersheim and then secondary school in Bockenem for two years . In 1962 he graduated from high school in Seesen in the Harz Mountains and then did his military service in Northeim until 1963 . After completing his military service, he studied German and history for teaching in Göttingen until 1969 and worked as a secondary school teacher in Rotenburg until his election to the state parliament in 1994.

Räke had belonged to the SPD since 1968 and was also a member of the board of the Rotenburg SPD. From 1975 to 1982 he was the local association chairman. He was councilor and mayor of the city of Rotenburg. Later he was a member of the district council in the Rotenburg district. In the thirteenth electoral term, Räke was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament through a direct mandate in the constituency 67 Rotenburg.

In 2016 the new Rotenburg sports hall was named after him.
