Bodo Thomas

Bodo Thomas (born February 1, 1932 in Berlin ; † May 10, 1995 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Thomas graduated from high school in 1951 and studied law and history at the Free University of Berlin .

In 1954 Thomas joined the SPD. In the Berlin election in 1958 , he was elected to the district assembly in the Reinickendorf district. In the 1971 Berlin election he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, to which he was a member until 1989. For many years he was a member of the parliamentary committee for federal affairs and general Berlin issues.

In February 1993, Thomas was taken into custody on suspicion of being an agent for the former GDR Ministry for State Security . He committed suicide on May 10, 1995. His wife Helga Thomas was also a member of the House of Representatives from 1989 and was also charged with suspected agent activity.
