from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The sites of Bogu and Gaolingpo ( Chinese  百 谷 和 高岭 坡 遗址 , Pinyin Bǎigǔ hé Gāolǐngpō yízhǐ ) are Paleolithic sites in Bose (or "Baise") in the Bose Basin or "Baise Basin" ( 百色 盆地 , English Bose Basin / Baise Basin ) in the Autonomous region Guangxi the Zhuang in southern China.

The sites have been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-99) since 2001 .

Stone tools discovered there have been dated to an age of 803,000 years.

The discovery of Acheuléen- like hand axes demonstrates that such tools were used in East Asia over 500,000 years ago.
