Boguslaw Furtok

Bogusław Furtok (* 1967 in Katowice ) is a Polish double bass player , composer and music teacher .

Live and act

Furtok received his first lessons on the double bass at the age of nine and completed his studies at the Katowice Music Academy with Waldemar Tamowski and at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts with Günter Klaus, where he passed his concert exam.

He is a prizewinner at the Markneukirchen International Double Bass Competition (1989), where he received 1st prize, as well as at music competitions in Geneva (1990) and Parma (1992).

In 1995 he became the solo double bass player of the Frankfurt Hr Symphony Orchestra . As a soloist he has performed with numerous well-known orchestras in Europe and Japan . In Japan he was a lecturer at the Pacific Music Festival Sapporo between 2004 and 2013 .

Furtok has published numerous sound recordings and is a composer of chamber music works for double bass.
