The Bonert Rock ( Spanish Islote Capitán Bonert ) is a rocky island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 800 meters southeast of Canto Point in Discovery Bay on Greenwich Island .

Scientists from the First Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) carried out a survey in 1947 and named the island after Federico Bonert Holzapfel, deputy head of the research trip and commander of the transport ship Angamos .
