The football district league Cottbus 1959 was the eighth season of the football district league Cottbus of the German Football Association . Once again, this year's Cottbus district league was held in a round-robin tournament with twelve teams, based on the Soviet model . The BSG activist Black Pump prevailed with two points ahead of the BSG Aufbau Großräschen and thus rose to the 2nd GDR league. BSG Motor Lauchhammer-Ost and BSG Aktivist Brieske-Ost were relegated to the Cottbus district class, while BSG Chemie Weißwasser and BSG Stahl Prösen were promoted to the district league for the coming season.
