The football district class Cottbus 1952/53 was the first season of the football district league Cottbus of the German Football Association . With the establishment of the districts instead of the federal states, there was also a change in the league system in football, so that the district leagues replaced the former state classes. This year's Cottbus district class was held in a round-robin tournament with twelve teams. The BSG activist Brieske-Ost prevailed with two points ahead of the BSG activist Laubusch and became district champion. As a result, the club qualified for the promotion round to the GDR soccer league , in which Brieske could not prevail. At the end of the season, BSG Progress Cottbus , BSG Einheit Forst and BSG Chemie Döbern had to relegate; in return, BSG Chemie Weißwasser-West and BSG Motor Finsterwalde-Süd were promoted.
