Harry Vorselen
Harry Vorselen (* 1968 in Thorn ) is a Dutch conductor and horn player .
Life
Harry Vorselen began his musical career at the age of eight with the Royal Harmony in Thorn . From 1987 he studied horn at the Maastricht University of Music . During and after his studies, Harry Vorselen u. a. Solo horn at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the European Youth Orchestra . He performed there under the conductors Bernard Haitink , Claudio Abbado , Carlo Maria Giulini , Mariss Jansons and Valeri Abissalowitsch Gergijew . An engagement as principal horn with the Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Netherlands from 1992 to 2002 followed. He gave concerts with the Dutch Wind Ensemble and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam . In 2010 he finished his conducting studies with Enrico Delamboye at the Maastricht University of Music.
In 2012 he succeeded Pierre Kuijpers as chief conductor of the Junge Bläserphilharmonie NRW .
