The Bongo Massif (also Bongo Mountains or Tondou Massif ) is located in Central Africa in the northeast of the Central African Republic and in the west of South Sudan . In this massif, the watersheds of the three river systems Nile , Congo and Shari (main river in the Chad basin ) merge to form a continental watershed point .

The river Lol rises from the mountains and flows over the rivers Bahr al-Arab and Bahr al-Ghazal into the White Nile . The Bahr al-Arab also rises from the mountains near Mount Ngaja . The northern and central areas of the Bongo massif are under conservation by 1960 furnished Andre Felix National Park and its buffer zone, the Yata-Ngaya nature reserve.

The highest mountain of the massif is the 1330 meter high Mont Toussoro . The highest pass is the Col Quijox , 923 meters above sea level, on the RN5 highway between the cities of Birao and Bria .
