history

The Bongo Comics Group was founded in 1993 by Simpsons creators Matt Groening , Bill Morrison , Steve and Cindy Vance . Steve and Cindy Vance had previously published Simpsons Illustrated magazine, on the success of which the first real Bongo comic called Simpsons Comics and Stories Issue went up for sale in January 1993. To date, there are over 400 episodes of the classic Simpsons series, plus a few other Simpsons-related titles.

In 2003 the first comic that was not an offshoot or something similar of the Simpsons or Futurama was released. Heroes Anonymous by Bongo chief draftsman Bill Morrison is very successful in the USA.

The American comic group Bongo got its name from the comic series Life in Hell by the Simpsons creator Matt Groening, which was about a rabbit with only one ear. This rabbit is also often found in the Simpsons and is called Bongo .

In German-speaking countries, Bongo Comics are published by Dino Verlag (now Panini Verlag ).
