Borg is a district of the municipality of Ribnitz-Damgarten ( Vorpommern-Rügen district ) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Town chronicles of Ribnitz-Damgarten indicate that the name “Borg” is perhaps based on the assumption that a Slavic castle used to stand there.

Location and structure

The village of Borg is about one kilometer before the entrance to the city of Ribnitz in the direction of Rostock . It is located on federal road 105 , with the main part of the village joining a side road that branches off from the federal road.

Around 100 people live in the Ribnitz-Damgarten district of Borg, located on Bundesstraße 105. Some offer pension services to vacationers . A company for demolition, container service and scrap processing is based in Borg.

Others

One of the first wind turbines in the region was built in Borg . However, this has now been switched off for cost reasons.
