Boris Dmitrijewitsch Kuznetsov ( Russian Борис Дмитриевич Кузнецов ; born July 14, 1928 in Moscow ; † December 3, 1999 ibid) was a Russian - Soviet football player . The defender was part of Dynamo Moscow's squad that dominated Soviet football in the second half of the 1950s. With the selection of the USSR , he became Olympic champion in 1956 and took part in the 1958 World Cup.

Kuznetsov began his career as a footballer in 1947 with the Moscow Army Club MWO , in 1950 he moved to the capital's larger army club, the ZDKA , with which he was able to celebrate the double of championship and cup victory in his only season in 1950 . He played in Kaliningrad for the next two years before returning to his old club MWO in Moscow. But he was only able to show his great talent as a defender after he moved to Dynamo Moscow in 1953. In the following eight years, Kuznetsov was a regular of this team, which in the second half of the decade was dominant in the league and won four championships in six years. Kuznetsov was one of the most important performers and during this time was also the only player from Dynamo Moscow in the Soviet national team, for which he played a total of 26 times.
