Boris Grimberg (born June 19, 1988 in Kostroma , RSFSR ) is a German chess player .

Life

Grimberg is a business lawyer and has lived in Germany since 1995.

successes

Grimberg has held the title of International Master since June 2011 .

He won several Bavarian state titles at youth level. In 2001 he won the Bavarian individual championships U 14, in 2005 and 2006 he was Bavarian individual champion in the age group U 18. In 2007 he was Bavarian junior champion in the age group U 25. He successfully participated in numerous German youth championships.

In 2007 he was Bavarian runner-up ahead of world chess champion Michail Umansky .

In 2008 he won the Bavarian Individual Championship and thus qualified for the German Individual Championship 2008 in Bad Wörishofen . At the German individual rapid chess championship in 2008 in Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf , he finished 9th.

In 2009 he and Augusta Vindelicorum (Augsburg) took 3rd place at the Open International Bavarian University Team Championship in Augsburg. In 2010 he took 2nd place with the University of Augsburg.

In the 2016/2017 season he played in the 2nd Bundesliga West in Austria for the chess club SIR Salzburg, which took 1st place. In the Belgian Interclubs he played for Chess Club Anderlecht in the 2012/13 season .

He finished 10th in the 2017 German Blitzschach Individual Championship.

At the Bavarian Blitzschach Individual Championship in 2019, he took 2nd place.

Currently (as of the 2019/20 season) he plays for the Augsburg club TSV Haunstetten in the Landesliga Süd.
