Boris Rösner

Boris Rösner (born January 25, 1951 in Opava , † May 31, 2006 in Kladno ) was a Czech actor .

Rösner, who came from a family of theater people, played on the Prague stages as a child. He graduated in 1973 trained as an actor at the Prague DAMU (among others Václav Voska and Vlasta Fabianová ), then played from 1973 to 1979 at the Theater FX Šalda in Liberec from 1979 until 1987 at the Prague Municipal Theater and since 1987 at the National Theater in Prague that he has also directed since 2000. Rösner, who was involved in the Velvet Revolution in 1989 , was a voice actor (including for Christopher Lee in The Lord of the Rings ) and acting teacher at DAMU. He has also appeared in numerous roles in film and television. Rösner died of complications from cancer.

He has received several awards, including the Alfred Radok Prize and the Thalia Prize .
