Boris Tsygan

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Boris L. Tsygan , Russian Борис Цыган (* 1958 ) is a Russian mathematician who works in the USA and deals with algebra .

Tsygan received his doctorate in 1987 from Lomonosov University under Yuri Manin . He taught at Pennsylvania State University and is a professor at Northwestern University .

Tsygan introduced cyclic cohomology independently of Alain Connes in the early 1980s , which is an important invariant of non-commutative geometry . He dealt early with Boris Lwowitsch Feigin in Russia with non-commutative geometry.
