Boris Weirauch (born February 3, 1977 in Ludwigshafen / Rhein ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since 2016 .

After graduating from high school and doing community service, he studied law in Mannheim , Lausanne and Frankfurt am Main from 1997 to 2004 . He then completed a legal clerkship at the Darmstadt Regional Court until 2006 and worked at the same time for Lothar Mark, a member of the SPD, as a constituency officer. After passing the 2nd state examination, he was admitted to the bar by the Frankfurt am Main Bar Association in 2007 and worked for the international law firm CMS Hasche Sigle in Frankfurt in the areas of banking and securities law, corporate law and litigation until 2010 . With a thesis on conflicts of interest among municipal decision-makers, he was awarded a doctorate in 2010 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. iur. PhD. From 2011 to March 2019, Weirauch was a lawyer and authorized signatory at the auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers in Mannheim and Stuttgart in the field of public commercial law and corporate law. In 2013 he was awarded the title of " Specialist in banking and capital markets law " by the Karlsruhe Bar Association. He has been working as a lawyer at Baker Tilly Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH since April 2019 .

Weirauch has been a member of the SPD since 1999. He was elected to the municipal council of the city of Mannheim in the local elections in 2009 and was a member of the committee as spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for security, order and traffic for two legislative periods until 2019. From 2014 to 2019 he was also a member of the association assembly of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. He did not run for the 2019 local elections in order to concentrate on exercising his state parliament mandate.

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016, Weirauch entered the Baden-Württemberg state parliament through a second mandate for the Mannheim II state electoral district . Weirauch is the legal and economic policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and also acts as their legal advisor.

In the SPD parliamentary group he was initially the working group chairman for the areas of “economy, work and housing” until 2019 and has since then been the working group chairman for the areas of “law and constitution”. Weirauch is also a member of the parliamentary control committee that controls the protection of the constitution in Baden-Württemberg.

As chairman of the SPD parliamentary group, Weirauch was a member of the second NSU investigative committee of the Baden-Wuerttemberg state parliament ("The supporter environment of the National Socialist Underground (NSU) in Baden-Wuerttemberg and continuation of the educational work on the terrorist attack on the police officers MK and MA (right-wing terrorism / NSU BW II) "), which presented its final report in December 2018.

Weirauch is married and has four children.

From 2013 to 2019 Weirauch was an honorary CFO at MTG Mannheim , and in October 2019 he was elected honorary chairman by the general assembly.

Awards:

In November 2019 Weirauch was awarded the Council Medal in bronze by the City of Mannheim for his work in the Mannheim City Council.
