The Mannheim III constituency (constituency 37) was a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg , which existed from the state elections in 1976 until the state elections in 1988 . It included the Mannheim districts of Almenhof , Friedrichsfeld , Lindenhof , Neckarau , Neuhermsheim , Niederfeld, Oststadt, Rheinau , Schwetzingerstadt and Seckenheim .

history

The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg from 1968 to 1975 and the district reform of 1973 for the state election in 1976. The new constituency No. 37, Mannheim III, essentially corresponded to the earlier constituency No. 33, Mannheim-Stadt 3, which had existed from the state elections in 1956 to the state elections in 1972 .

For the 1992 state elections , the Mannheim district was divided into two instead of three constituencies. The previous constituency 37, Mannheim III, and most of the previous constituency 35, Mannheim I , were essentially combined to form the new constituency 36, Mannheim II .

Member of Parliament from 1976 to 1992

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg, each voter has one vote, with which both the direct candidate and the total number of seats of a party in the state parliament are determined. There are no state or district lists; instead, in order to establish the equalization of proportions, inferior constituency applicants are assigned second mandates .

The Mannheim III constituency was represented from 1976 to 1992 by the following members of the state parliament:

Political party Type of mandate MPs
CDU First mandate Willibald Kimmel 1976, 1980
Gerhard Bloemecke 1984, 1988
SPD Second mandate Walter Krause 1976
Jörg Ueltzhöffer 1980, 1984
