Willibald Kimmel

Willibald Kimmel (born July 18, 1929 in Pößneck ; † January 8, 2011 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

The lawyer Kimmel ran a law firm in Mannheim , for many years together with Roland Hartung . In 1960 he was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for the first time . There he was the youngest member of parliament and represented the Mannheim-Stadt III constituency. He was spokesman for judicial policy and deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and chairman of the standing committee. Kimmel was a member of the state parliament for 24 years until he resigned as the longest-serving member in 1984.

Afterwards he was a member of the board of directors of the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg . In the Rhine-Neckar region he was for many years chairman of the Lower Neckar regional association and chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Rhine-Neckar regional planning association .

Kimmel was awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit . He was also awarded the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit in 1987 and the Hermann Heimerich plaque in 2001.
