Borka Avramova

Borka Avramova ( Macedonian Борка Аврамова ; born October 9, 1924 in Tetovo ; † March 25, 1993 in Zagreb ) was a Yugoslav sculptor . Her sculptures are inspired by Macedonian history. In addition, she made portraits, a. a. by Slavko Janevski and Drago Ivanišević .

Life

Avramova graduated from the Art School in Skopje in 1948 and then studied sculpture with Frano Kršinić at the Art Academy in Zagreb until 1953 . After completing her studies, she returned to Skopje in 1953 and became a member of the Society of Fine Artists in Macedonia. Her first exhibition of sculptures took place in Skopje in 1954. It was also the first sculpture exhibition in Macedonia . From 1959 to 1960 she was studying in Paris . After her return, she settled permanently in Zagreb and worked in the master workshop of Kršinić from 1960 to 1963.
