The Bormann shaft was a coal mine of the Baron von Burgker coal and ironworks . The shaft was located in the central part of the hard coal deposit of the Döhlen basin on Großburgker Flur.

history

Carl Gottlieb Dathe, the owner of the Burgk manor and the coal rights, began digging the shaft in 1812 . The at 242  m above sea level. The shaft set up above sea level reached a depth of 102.70 meters. From 97.70 meters, the first seam with a thickness of 5.00 meters was cut. In the area of the shaft, thicknesses of up to 9 meters were found in the first seam.

170 meters north-east of the shaft, the northern branch of the Beckerschachtverwerfung starts with a jump height of 14 meters from southeast to northwest through the pit field.

A gallery wing of the Burgker Weißeritz gallery served to drain the pit field . Its mouth is on the right bank of the Weißeritz.

A side stretch of the daily route Oberes Revier in Burgk served as a journey for the team . This saved the installation of a driving art in the shaft. The mouth hole was about 180 meters away. The filling point had a connection at a depth of 102.70 meters. In 1846, after the extraction of 107,701 t of hard coal, mining was stopped due to the exhaustion of supplies and the shaft was thrown out .

In 1961 the Bormann shaft was kept safe by the mountain security .
