The Bosch + Sohn GmbH & Co. KG (short Boso ) is a German manufacturer of blood pressure monitors with headquarters in Jungingen in Zollernalbkreis , further, there is a branch in Vienna .

history

Boso was founded by Josef and Albert Bosch in a mechanical workshop in Strasbourg at the end of the 19th century. Shortly after it was founded, the seismic devices from “J&A Bosch” received a gold medal at the world exhibitions in Paris (1900) and St. Louis (1904).

Another breakthrough came at the beginning of 1900 with a blood pressure monitor that could be mass-produced. In 1918 the German defeat in World War I led to the closure of the company. Albert Bosch returned to his birthplace in Jungingen in 1921 and founded the company "Bosch + Speidel" with Albert Speidel. In 1965 this was divided into the companies "Speidel + Keller" and "Bosch + Sohn". Bosch + Sohn GmbH u. Co. KG has been selling its products under the name "Boso" ever since.

The company developed the first self-measuring blood pressure device with a stethoscope and introduced the digital self-measuring device and the oscillometric measuring method in Germany. In 2009, 77% of all German doctors used Boso blood pressure monitors.
